This delightful Ilaiyaraaja composition written by Vaali for the 1991 film Gopuravasalile, is our song of the day tribute to director Priyadarshan, on his birthday.

The screenwriter, producer and director has worked on over 95 films in Malayalam and Hindi, six in Tamil and two in Telugu. His films with Mohanlal in the 80s and 90s were most popular, and his Tamil film Kanchivaram with Prakash Raj and Shriya Reddy, Snegithaye with Jyothika, Tabu, and Gopuravasalile were among the best.

In this song, four bachelors living together sing to their housemate and friend that a goddess-like woman has come to their doorstep, trusting him, and to be with him. Karthik is like a groom surrounded by well wishers celebrating his love and saying that there could be no better union than this. Yet the four men sing while going about routine house work like washing dishes, grinding batter, drawing water from the well, buying vegetables, and well after the song is over it still plays in our background as our day also goes by.
