As everyone prays for Contractor Neasamani, our song for the day is ‘Rukku Rukku’ from the 2001 film Friends starring Vijay, Suriya, Ramesh Khanna and others as Vadivelu (Neasamani)’s inept assistants who are asked not to come anywhere near Jamin Palace after they injure Neasamani by dropping a hammer on his head and generally create a ruckus in the bungalow.
Devayani, the daughter of the house, is impressed by Vijay and his group’s singing while they loiter outside, and asks them come back again. The song is composed by Ilaiayraaja and sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and features Vijay, Suriya, Vadivelu and others dancing with the group.
