Happy birthday to Prabhu Deva and Hariharan! Our song of the day is ‘Vennilave’ sung by Hariharan, Sadhna Sargam, starring Prabhu Deva and Kajol. Directed by Rajiv Menon, the film’s story centered on Kajol’s character Priya who falls in love with Prabhu Deva, while Aravind Swamy loves her. The movie released in 1997, and its songs by AR Rahman became very popular.
The sets of ‘Vennilave’ feature a road-side full moon night where Prabhu Deva and others on the street dance to a romantic song for Kajol, who soon joins them. Prabhu Deva’s choreography in this song and ‘Strawberry Kanne’ from this film are memorable. They also won him a National Award. The film and its songs were remade in Telugu and Hindi later.
