The official teaser of Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara’s Malayalam film Love Action Drama is out. The film marks the directorial debut of Dhyan Srinivasan, who has also written the script.
The teaser has romance, action scenes, dance and music and looks like a fun entertainer. Aju Varghese plays Nivin Pauly’s friend and Mallika Sukumaran is his mother. Music is by Shaan Rahman and Dhyan’s brother Vineeth Sreenivasan has written the lyrics.

As reported earlier, the film is said to be a spin-off of Vadakkunokkiyanthram (1989), the super-hit Malayalam film written and directed by Dhyan’s father Sreenivasan. Dhyan has retained the character names Dhinesh and Shoba in this film. Dhinesh, who comes from a well-to-do family and wants to make it big on his own, is in love with Shoba, who is from Palakkad. Nayanthara reportedly speaks both Tamil and Malayalam in the film, though the teaser doesn’t have her saying anything.
Vadakkunokkiyanthram by Sreenivasan revolved around the problems in a married couple’s life arising from the husband’s inferiority complex, and also inspired remakes in other languages.
Dhyan’s father Sreenivasan, Urvashi, Dhanya Balakrishnan, director Antony Joseph, Durga Krishnan and Mallika Sukumar star in important roles in Love Action Drama. Sreenivas Reddy is the cinematographer, Vivek Harshan is the editor and Ajayan Mangadu is the art director. The film is produced by Aju Varghese and Visakh Subramaniam under the banner of Funtastic Films.
The film was launched over a year ago and faced delays due to many reasons, including the busy schedule of its actors. They finished the first schedule last year and shoot resumed this February. A poster featuring Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara released in July, and also announced that the film’s release during Onam in September.

Nayanthara returns to Malayalam cinema three years after Puthiya Niyamam, co-starring Mammootty. She was last seen in Kolaiyuthir Kaalam in Tamil, and has the three big films Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, Bigil and Darbar under production.
Nivin Pauly has Moothon, Thuramukham, Padavettu and Gauri.
