Following the critical and commercial success of Asuran, Vetri Maaran’s next film has been announced, The national award-winning filmmaker will work with producer Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment.
Elred Kumar said, “More than as s producer, I am exhilarated in collaborating with a filmmaker like Vetri Maaran as a film buff. He has been among the rare league of filmmakers who bridge the gap between offbeat and commercial cinema. The core themes of his movies are unique and at the same time, they are packaged and presented very well with commercially engrossing elements, which haven’t just won the hearts of Tamil audiences, but beyond linguistic boundaries as well. This is evident from his recent blockbuster hit Asuran. I am very happy and look forward to bringing the best showpiece from his team. We will be shortly announcing the complete details about the project including the star-cast and technicians.”
Meanwhile, Asuran has grossed 100 crores and has joined a handful of Tamil films that have achieved this feat. This morning, the current DMK supremo, MK Stalin tweeted about the movie as well. “Asuran is not a film but a lesson. He is a gutsy man who takes on a casteist society. The film is based on reclaiming ownership of Panchami lands. Vetri Maaran’s story, setting, and dialogue are winning and Dhanush has lived as the main character. My wishes to them.”
