Shri Venkatesh Films, producers of Dracula Sir, released the first song of the film Raat Pohale on YouTube on Tuesday.
Sung by Ishan Mitra, the song talks about with the darkness of the night that engulfs everything while it lasts. The music is composed by the duo Amit-Ishan.
Written and directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya, Dracula Sir features Anirban Bhattacharya, Mimi Chakraborty, Bidipta Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh, Samiul Alam, Kanchan Mullick and Supriyo Dutta.
The story revolves around school teacher Amol, played by Anirban, who has a pair of sharp, protruding canines, thereby landing him the name Dracula sir, by his students. It is set in the backdrop of the Naxal movement in Bengal.
“Dracula Sir is the story of a Bengali who is an owner neither of a fortress nor of a legacy. He weaves his own story from scratch,” Bhattacharya told Bengali daily Anandabazaar Patrika.

Produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shri Venkatesh Films, the film is set to have a theatrical release on October 21 coinciding with Durga Puja. It was supposed to release in May, but got delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdown.
Anirban Bhattacharya was last seen in Joydeep Mukherjee’s Detective (2019). Mimi Chakraborty’s last release was Shagufta Rafique’s Mon Jaane Naa (2019). Apart from Dracula Sir, she has SOS Kolkata as her upcoming release. She is also an MP from Kolkata’s Jadavpur constituency. This is the actor’s second film with Anirban Bhattacharya after the 2017 release Dhananjay directed by Arindam Sil.
