Singers Billie Eilish and Harry Styles will appear in a seven-part series by luxury brand Gucci, which will be directed by filmmaker Gus Van Sant. Called Overture of Something That Never Ended, it will be co-directed by the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele.
The series will be showcased at GucciFest, a digital fashion and film festival that will take place between November 16 to 22.
According to a report by Variety, the series will be set in Rome and will feature actor Silvia Calderoni. It will see her encountering a plethora of stars including Eilish, Styles, Florence Welsh, Arlo Parks, and Lu Han as she makes her way through the city.
In a press statement, Gucci said: “The presentation of the new collection is a joyful and irregular new tale, no longer constrained by the old notion of seasonality, closer to (Michele’s) expressive call and told by blending rules and genres, feeding on new spaces, linguistic codes and communication platforms.”
The episodes are expected to be released every day. Gucci had first hinted at the collaboration between the brand and Van Sant when it took to Instagram to post a picture of the two directors sitting together.
GucciFest is set to be broadcasted on Youtube Fashion, Gucci’s YouTube channel, and the official website of GucciFest. Variety reported that the festival will also see fashion films featuring the works of 15 independent designers including Ahluwalia, Shanel Campbell, Stefan Cooke, Cormio, Gui Rosa, Rui, Bianca Saunders, Collina Strada, Boramy Viguier, and Gareth Wrighton.
