Vaashi, the upcoming Malayalam film, will star Tovino Thomas and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, actor Mohanlal announced on social media on Monday.
Vaashi marks the first collaboration of Tovino and Keerthy.

Keerthy, while announcing the film, said that the film took “almost seven years to fall in place”. Ring Master, the 2014 comedy film co-starring Dileep, was her last Malayalam film.
Vaashi will be written and directed by Vishnu G Raghav. Produced by Keerthy’s father and producer G Suresh Kumar, the film will be presented under his banner Revathy Kalaamandhir. Vaashi will be co-produced by Menaka Suresh and Revathy Suresh (Keerthy’s mother and elder sister respectively).
The rest of the film’s cast members are yet to be announced.
Janiz Chacko Simon has written the story while Roby Varghese Raj is the cinematographer. Mahesh Narayanan will be editing the film and Kailas Menon will compose music, with Vinayak Sasikumar as the lyricist. Mahesh Sridhar and Divya George are the art director and costume designer, respectively.

Keerthy began to shoot with Mahesh Babu for her Telugu film Sarkaru Vaari Paata Shuru in Dubai on Monday. She will also feature in the upcoming Rajinikanth-starrer film Annaatthe alongside Nayanthara. She was last seen in the Netflix film Miss India in 2020.
Tovino, who launched his production house last week, has a number of films lined up. He recently completed shooting for his upcoming thriller film Kala, the teaser of which was released recently. He also has Vazhakku, a murder mystery directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, and last week announced a new film, Anveshippin Kandethum with debutant filmmaker Darwin Kuriakose.
