Mumbai Saga is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anuradha Gupta, and Sangeeta Ahir under the T-Series and White Feather Films banners.

In 2019, the makers of Mumbai Saga were sent a legal notice by undertrial prisoner Ravi Bohra and family members of gangster Amar Naik including his gangster brother Ashwin Naik, seeking an interim stay or postponement of the release after reports surfaced about the film being based on their lives.

They recently filed a plea with the Bombay High Court that refused to stay the release after the petitioners failed to show how the film would deter their trial. Producers told the court that they “never” claimed the story was based on Bohra or Naik.
