After television actor Shweta Tiwari shared a video clip of the CCTV footage of her estranged husband Abhinav Kohli allegedly assaulting her and their son Reyansh, the National Commission for Women (NCW) wrote to the Mumbai Police seeking their intervention in the case.

In a public spat over social media, Kohli accused Tiwari of not taking care of Reyansh. He alleged that Tiwari had left their son alone in Mumbai and travelled to Cape Town, South Africa, to participate in the television reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. Refuting his allegations, Tiwari said that their son was safe with her family.
She posted a couple of videos on her Instagram handle on Monday alleging that Tiwari had manhandled her and their son but later deleted the video.
According to a report by The Indian Express, NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma wrote to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale.
“In the hustle, Shweta Tiwari falls on the ground. The accused continues to create ruckus after getting inside the house as well. The Commission is perturbed by the sight of the atrocity being committed on a child and to the woman. You are, therefore, requested to immediately look into the matter and take appropriate action against the accused in accordance with the law. The action taken must be communicated to the commission within 10 days,” Sharma said in the letter.
Responding to NCW’s tweet, Kohli wrote in a social media post, “Respected Chairperson, I have not done anything wrong. I beg you to please request DGP Maharashtra to investigate into the location of my son and hand him over to me.”
