Pushpa and Sarkaru Vaari Paata: Makers Lodge Complaint With Cyber Cell Over Content Leak; Say They Are “Deeply Disturbed”

Mythri Movie Makers, the production house that is backing two upcoming big-budget Telugu films, Sarkaru Vaari Paata featuring actor Mahesh Babu and Pushpa, featuring actor Allu Arjun, has lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Department, after a teaser and a song were leaked, ahead of their scheduled release, the makers announced in a statement while condemning the act of piracy, on Sunday.

The teaser of Sarkaru Vaari Paata that officially released on Mahesh Babu’s birthday on August 9, and Pushpa’s single Telugu track, Daakko Daakko Meka that released on August 13, were leaked hours before their scheduled release time, forcing the makers to release the content officially.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, said, “The leak happened a few hours before the launch of the teaser for Sarkaru Vaari Paata. The single from Pushpa was leaked when we were playing the song during filming, which was shot about six months back. The person who recorded it, held it close all this while and when we announced song release, it was leaked. We filed a complaint about 3-4 days back and the investigation is going on in a steady manner. In a couple of days or so, we will be able to catch the culprit.”

“The recent leaks of the film material of Sarkaru Vaari Paata and Pushpa are condemnable and have deeply disturbed us. It seems some miscreants are taking sadistic pleasure in leaking this content, thereby troubling us as well as killing the excitement and experience for our audience,” the statement from the production house read. The banner also requested people to not encourage piracy.

Meanwhile, Ravi Shankar said that for Sarkaru Vaari Paata, the shoot is ongoing in Goa and for Pushpa, actor Fahadh Faasil, who is making his Telugu debut and plays the antagonist, will be joining the shoot from August 21 in Hyderabad. “After his schedule is over, between September 1-15, we will go to forests and complete the rest of the shoot,” the producer said.

Both the films have announced their release dates. Sarkaru Vaari Paata, directed by Parasuram will be released in theatres on January 13, 2022, for the Sankranthi festival while Pushpa, directed by Sukumar, will release in two parts. The first installment will release at a pan-Indian level in five languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, for Christmas 2021.
