The new project, which is set to be Ajith’s 61st film and thus dubbed Thala 61, will mark the third collaboration of the trio, who earlier came together to make Nerkonda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of Pink, in 2019. However, an official announcement on the new film is yet to be made.

During the interview, which focused on Valimai, Kapoor made the revelation about the new project when he was asked what gave him confidence in the three-film-old filmmaker Vinoth.

The producer said, “His [Vinoth’s] work will talk. He believes in expressing himself through his films. It was Ajith who sent Vinoth to my Mumbai residence to narrate some film ideas a few years back. I remember my wife [the late actor Sridevi] conversing with him in Tamil, and being impressed with his story lines. His vision was clear, and ours has been a happy journey. In fact, my next film will also be with Ajith and Vinoth.”

Kapoor, who is producing Valimai under his BayView Projects banner in association with Zee Studios, recently announced that the film will hit the theatres for Pongal 2022. A day later, on September 23, the team released the film’s teaser.

Besides Ajith, Valimai also stars actors Huma Qureshi, Karthikeya, Bani, Sumithra, Achyunth Kumar, Raj Ayyappa, Pugazh, and Yogi Babu, among others.

There have been speculations that Beast, actor Vijay’s upcoming film with director Nelson Dilipkumar, will also release around the same time. When asked about his thoughts on a potential box office clash, Kapoor said if that happens, Pongal will “get brighter” for the fans of both stars.
