Pencil’s cast and crew are flying to Japan to shoot a couple of songs for the film. The GV Prakash Kumar – Sri Divya starrer is currently in the final stages of filming, with only two songs – Kangalile Kangalile Kadugalavu Therigirathe and Yaarai Polum Illaa Neeyum, Ellaar Polum Ulla Naanum – left to be canned. Both these numbers have been penned by lyricist Thamarai while GVP has scored music.
According to the publicist, director Mani Nagaraj is keen on showing Tokyo in a ‘never-seen-before fashion’. Choreographer Sheriff will also be a part of the team that is flying abroad, and will take care of both songs.

Pencil is said to be a coming-of-age drama, set in a school. The film was promoted as GV Prakash’s debut vehicle, but is still in production. The music composer-turned-actor though, made best use of the delay and finished his horror flick Darling – which might release in November. As for Pencil, post-production work is expected to begin in earnest once the team returns from Japan.
The movie might hit theatres in December.
