Vishwaroopam 2 was wrapped up in October last year, but there has been no release date in sight for the film. Actor Kamal Haasan spoke about the postponement in an interview to The Hindu recently. He said,”Vishwaroopam 2 began right after the release of the first film. Except for a song, everything else has been completed. The delay is with the production side of things.”
The actor then moved on to Uttama Villain and Papanasam because he was tired of waiting for the release. “I was already sad because of the issues surrounding the release of the first film. I didn’t want a repeat of things and so, I decided to go ahead with new projects and keep an eye on Vishwaroopam 2 as well.”
Now that post-production work for both Uttama Villain and Papanasam is underway, one of them will hit the screens before the end of this year. Vishwaroopam 2 is currently on the back-burner as Aascar Films is reportedly under heavy financial strain.
