The Producers’ Council, Directors’ Association and Nadigar Sangam gathered at a hotel on Sunday to discuss ways to curb piracy in Tamil Nadu. At the press meet that was held later, RK Selvamani, secretary of Directors’ Association, said that the unions have drafted six resolutions to curtail piracy.

- The unions will seek the help of the Central and State Governments to ban sites that allow illegal downloading of new releases. RK Selvamani said that legal action will also be taken against the perpetrators.
- Tamil cinema industry will conduct a march on December 2 to highlight the impact of piracy. All actors and technicians are expected to participate. The unions will meet the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at the end of the march to hand a request to him to eliminate piracy.
- According to the official statement, the union members have requested all stars to urge their fans to lodge complaints against miscreants.
- RK Selvamani said that actors will star in a video that would explain how piracy casts a shadow on the industry.
