Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Aaranya Kaandam is being remade in Hindi. The critically acclaimed Tamil film from 2011 is being adapted for Bollywood by screenwriter Karthik Krishnan, under the supervision of Kumararaja. The Hindi version will be set in Hyderabad and casting will begin shortly.
Sashikanth of Y Not Studios will be producing it and revealed in an interview to The Hindu that he will be financing Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s next film in Hindi as well. “Inception is nothing compared to how smart the new movie will be … but it’s such a big film that it will take us a year and a half just for pre-production. Since he hasn’t made anything since Aaranya Kaandam, I told him let’s make something else quickly and we’ll hopefully start shooting a quick film in the next six months.”
