Ilaiyaraaja to Croon Vairamuthu’s Song

Recommended

Ilaiyaraaja will lend his voice to a song penned by Vairamuthu for the flick Idam Porul Eval. The duo hasn’t worked together for about 28 years for “reasons unknown”. When Seenu Ramasamy, the director of Idam Porul Eval, approached Ilaiyaraaja about the song, he had reportedly accepted because both of them are “followers of Ramana Maharishi”. In an interview to a national daily, Seenu revealed that the song “is about a mother”. The director also dismissed reports suggesting that the number was penned by actor Dhanush.

Actors Vijay Sethupathy, Vishnu Vishal, Nandita and Ishwarya Rajesh play the lead roles in this flick, which is produced by N Lingusamy and N Subash Chandra Bose of Thirrupathi Brothers. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes music.
