The cast and crew of Aadhi Pinisetty’s Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka met the media for a press meet about the movie last evening. Earlier yesterday, the soundtrack of the movie was released at radio station in the city.
Starring Aadhi in the lead role, the movie is produced by his dad – Raviraja Pinisetty; and directed by his brother – Satya Prabhas Pinisetty. The title is based on a verse from the Thirukkural, and is relevant to the plot: the movie is about how a single word changes the life of four friends during the course of a night. After his debut in Mirugam, Aadhi has had very limited success at the box office. He is hoping that this movie provides his career a much needed break.
Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka marks the reentry of Richa Pallod to Tamil films after nearly a decade away from the spotlight. And the movie will also see Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty playing an important role – the star has long resisted several Tamil movie offers.
Speaking at the event, Aadhi said, “This is my 6th movie. There is nothing cinematic about this script. It is the story of regular people. Nothing is exaggerated, and the events and characters are as close to real life as possible.” He also that he felt comfortable acting in his brother’s direction.
Satya Prabhas – the director – said that the movie is being made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. He added, “Even if I say so myself, this will be a difficult film to ignore.”
Nikki Galrani (who was chosen for the role because she spoke Tamil well), Naren, Pasupathy and Mahadevan round out the rest of the cast. Music is by the debutant trio – Praveen – Shyam – Prasan; and cinematography by Shanmuga Sundaram (Roudram). National award winner Sabu Joseph edits Yagavarayinum Naa Kaaka.
