Actor Ashwin Kakumanu has signed his next film, Thollaikkatchi, with debutant director Sadiq Khan, a former assistant of directors Lingusamy and AR Murugadoss. Funded by Raja Bala Senthil of Kayalaalaya Movies, the film will feature actress Chandini Sreedharan as the female lead, along with actors Manobala, Lollu Sabha Jeeva, Mayilsamy and Madhimitha in supporting roles. Thollaikkatchi is tipped to be a romantic comedy with a social message. The technical crew includes editor LVK Doss, best known for Kayal, Kumki and Mynaa, art director Sekar, and music director Dharan.
