This Sunday, Bollywood actresses Amy Jackson, Swara Bhaskar and Bhumi Pednekar attended the closing ceremony of the 6th Jagran Film Festival in Mumbai. Despite his ailing health, veteran actor Shashi Kapoor also made it to the event, accompanied by his son. The legendary actor, who received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award earlier this year, was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement award.
Amy Jackson, whose film Singh is Bliing released this week, limited the ‘bling’ to studded nude shoes. She was dressed in a chic black tank top and pants with a red over-the-shoulder jacket. Bhumi Pednekar, who surprised everyone with her drastic weight loss post Dum Lagake Haisha, won the Best Actress Award for the film. She was quirkily attired in a white shirt and colourful separates by Urvashi Joneja. Actress Swara Bhaskar made quite a statement with an indigo coloured Maxi dress by Shruti Sancheti.
Prabhu Deva was seen sporting smart casuals, and was also photographed with actor Tusshar Kapoor. A combination to set the screen on fire. Madhur Bhandarkar also made an appearance. For a change, without any ‘calendar girls’ around him.
Shoojit Sircar won the best director award for the second consecutive year at the Festival, for his ‘as-real-as-it-gets’ film Piku. Kaushik Ganguly’s Bengali film Chotoder Chobi won the Best Feature Film award. The film had a second award to its name, when lead actor Dulal Sarkar won the Best Actor award for his performance in the film.
