After his success as Kattappa in Baahubali, actor Sathyaraj will play the lead role in editor Anthony’s maiden directorial venture, Oru Naal Iravil. Earlier titled ‘Night Show’, Oru Naal Iravil is an official remake of the Malayalam film Shutter, directed by Jeethu Joseph. Several celebrities have described Oru Naal Iravil as a fast-paced thriller destined for box-office success. Starring Sathyaraj, Anu Mol and Varun, Oru Naal Iravil also has TP Sundarrajan and Yugi Sethu in supporting roles.
The trailer opens with a close-up of Sathyaraj’s eyes, searching for something or someone. The camera moves back, and half his face is visible. Still searching. A young couple are enjoying their ride on a two-wheeler. A stark contrast from the protagonists of Oru Naal Iravil. One is trapped, one is looking. Late at night Sathyaraj looks (searchingly) out of a moving auto. Gautham Menon’s voiceover is accompanied by Yugi Sethu’s bewildered expression.
Gautham Menon tells us, “We may not commit any mistakes in this life, but we would definitely falter.” Sathyaraj sees Anu Mol standing at a deserted bus stop. When Anu Mol and Sathyraj’s eyes meet, for a split second, there’s recognition in one pair of eyes. Music director Navin’s background score intensifies, and we see a petrified auto driver. Anu Mol has been imprisoned somewhere. It’s up to Sathyaraj to solve this mystery.
Jointly produced by AL Alagappan and Sam Paul, Oru Naal Iravil, is scheduled to release on November 20.
