Director Ponram’s Rajini Murugan, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthi Suresh, is likely to release on December 11, a day before Rajinikanth’s birthday. The film has already faced several delays in the past. Due to financial issues, producer Linguamy of Thirrupathi Brothers had earlier locked several release dates from July 17 onwards. According to sources, one of the distributors had backed out, putting Lingusamy in the difficult situation of finding a new distributor. Lingusamy’s previous production, Uttama Villain, didn’t do well at the box-office. Consequently, several distributors refused to distribute Rajini Murugan.
Rajini Murugan was awarded a ‘U’ censor certificate in September, and has been ready for release since then. This is Sivakarthikeyan’s second collaboration with director Ponram, after Varuthapadadha Vaalibar Sangam. The comedy drama also stars Rajkiran, Samuthirakani, Kanaka, Soori, Santhosh Sivan, G Gnanasambandam, Deepa Ramanujam, and Robo Shankar.
