James Vasanthan Deactivates His Twitter Account

The ‘beep song’ controversy is having cascade effects, and the latest celebrity to get embroiled in it is music director and anchor James Vasanthan. The composer, in a press release, said that he had to deactivate his Twitter account after miscreants started circulating hate content using his name and picture.

Trouble began for Vasanthan after he slammed music director Ilaiyaraaja for shouting at a reporter who asked him to comment on STR’s ‘Beep Song’. James Vansanthan tweeted that he would appreciate the reporter for bringing out Ilaiyaraaja’s true nature.

Soon after this, Vasanthan started receiving hate messages from people, who claimed to be ardent fans of Ilaiyaraaja. Some of them, however, went one step ahead and started circulating hate messages about James Vasanthan on internet and other spaces.

In the press release, Vasanthan stated that he decided to deactivate his account as things had gone out of control. He also requested his followers not to believe in rumours. “The recent developments around my views and comments over Raaja sir’s issue has snowballed and got bigger than ever. I want to put a full stop to all these by saying sorry to his fans who I understand have been hurt by my views”, he said in the statement.
