Director Bharathiraja has begun shooting his next film, Kuttra Parambarai, which is based on Vela Ramamoorthy’s book of the same name. The project is bankrolled by the director himself. Veteran lyricist Vairamuthu is penning the songs for the movie, which is set in rural Tamil Nadu in the pre-independence era.
Allegedly, the book was a bone of contention for Bharathiraja and director Bala, who had, earlier this year, announced that he was set to adapt the story into a film with actors like Arya, Vishal, Arvind Swamy and Atharvaa. Meanwhile, Bharathiraja had claimed that it was his dream project, and that he was on the lookout for a producer. Now, the veteran director has gone on to hold a sudden pooja for this film at Usilampatti near Madurai with many members from Kollywood like G Dhananjayan, Seeman, Pandiraj, Suseenthiran attending the function. The first look of the film was released too.
