On May 11, Vijay Sethupathi will start shooting for Rekka, which also has Lakshmi Menon in the lead. The film will be launched with a pooja on May 6. Rekka will be directed by Rathna Siva, whose debut film Vaa Deal (with Arun Vijay) is yet to release. Vijay Sethupathi had two releases this year, and is awaiting the release of two more films, Iraivi and Dharmadurai. Another of his films, Idam Porul Eval, will also see a delayed release.
Rekka will be bankrolled by Ganesh of Common Man Productions. The music will be scored by D Imman, and Ganesh Chandra will handle the cinematography.
