‘Kismat,’ The Next Real Life Story On Screen After Ennu Ninte Moideen

After the success of Ennu Ninte Moideen, Mollywood sees yet another real-life love story come alive on screen. The movie, titled Kismat, is a romantic-tragedy, inspired by real-life events. The movie is directed by debutant director Shanavas K Bavakkutty and has anchor-model, Shruthy Menon as Anita, and Shane Nigam as Irfan in the lead roles.

The plot is the relationship between a 28-year-old dalit girl and a 23-year-old boy studying for a B.Tech, living in Ponnani, Kerala in 2011. Director Shanavas, in his interview to Times Of India, said that he became aware of the incident when he was working as the Municipal Councillor of Ponnani. The director said that he had met them when he went to the police station for an official work, a few years ago. The duo was there seeking police support. As he knew the girl, he probed the reason for their being there and they told him that their families were against their relationship owing to their age and caste. They had to separate owing to familial pressure.
