Actor Mohanlal will begin work on a Malayalam family entertainer with director Bhadran. This will be their first film together after a gap of 10 years. The duo have previously worked on films like Sphadikam, Uncle Bun, and Olympian Anthony Adam.
Speaking to the Times of India, the director said, “Yes, I am doing a movie with Mohanlal and it will be a movie that would ‘speak sense’. It is a movie that every family should see, something the current youngsters should watch and understand.” He added that the film’s production was likely to begin by the end of this year.

The last film Bhadran directed was Udayon (2005), which starred Mohanlal. Sphadikam, their most popular film to date, is considered a classic in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal’s character, the village rowdy Thomas Chacko aka Aadu Thoma, is still one of the most celebrated characters on screen. Bhadran has also made several successful films with Mammootty.
This year, Mohanlal also made his Telugu film debut with the film Manamantha. Manamantha opened to positive reviews last week and Mohanlal’s performance was well-received. The actor also starred in the Telugu film Janatha Garage and the Malayalam film Puli Murugan this year.
