Vijay Sethupathi will reportedly have his fifth release this year – Aandavan Kattalai – on 23 September. The actor’s other film – Rekka – will release on 7 October, quashing reports of a possible clash between his two films.
Aandavan Kattalai, directed by M Manikandan also stars Ritika Singh of Irudhi Suttru fame as the female lead with Pooja Devariya, Vela Ramamoorthy, RNR Manohar in major roles. The first look of the film was revealed recently.

The music for the film has been composed by K, while the film is produced by Gopuram Films. According to reports, the film will deal with a man who is desperate to fly abroad, and the many obstacles he faces in his bid to secure a passport.
Interestingly, Manikandan has decided to give Aandavan Kattalai a direct theatrical release. His previous films – Kaakka Muttai and Kuttrame Thandanai, toured the festival circuit for sometime before getting a release date.

Sethupathi’s other film, Rekka, is directed by Rathina Shiva, with Lakshmi Menon as the female lead. The actor plays an advocate who is forced to kidnap a girl in the film. The action film has music composed by D Imman and is bankrolled by B. Ganesh who last co-produced Orange Mittai in 2015.
The actor is currently filming for Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai with Dhanush and another film with Seenu Ramasamy.
