The film, directed by editor-turned-director Don Max, is a crime drama where Meera will be playing the role of a cop named Shaziya Akbar. Actors Anoop Menon and Kaniha are also part of the cast.

Meera Jasmine had been on an unofficial sabbatical ever since her marriage to Dubai-based engineer Anil John Titus. The actress’ offbeat film from  last year had created little impact and vanished from the scene soon after its release. In March this year, announcements for her ‘comeback’ film were made.

“A lot of people might consider this a comeback, but for me the last few months were just a sabbatical of sorts. I have been preparing for an international project that I am not at liberty to talk about right now. However, I was constantly in touch with the Malayalam film industry and have been listening to a lot of scripts. I wanted to do something nice and refreshing, and Don’s movie had everything I was searching for,” she said in an interview early this year.

Sporting a different look, Jasmine said that the role will be a stylish one. Known for featuring in several woman-centric films such as Padam Onnu: Oru Vilapam (2003) for which she won a National Award, Babu Janardhanan’s Lisammayude Veedu (2013), and Ithinumappuram a period film based in the 70s, Jasmine had stated that her upcoming film will have actors and actresses at par with each other. “It’s not a typical male or female dominated movie. All the characters are of equal importance,” she said.

The film’s shooting began in May and was extensively shot in Idukki, Kerala.
