There has been much speculation about actor Vijay and director Atlee teaming up next. Now there is confirmation that the Theri combo will indeed be doing a film again. Confirming this news, Hema Rukmani of Sri Thenandal films has said that this would be the first time the production house will be making a film with a star actor and that they hope they can recreate the magic of Theri in this project as well.

There was much buzz about Atlee’s next project. While it was speculated to be working with many actors including Mahesh Babu, Suriya and Ajith, it has now been confirmed that he will continue working with Vijay. While there is no confirmation regarding the female lead of the film, multiple reports suggest that Nayanthara is the frontrunner to bag the role. Details about the cast and crew of this film are expected to be announced after Diwali.
Vijay is busy shooting for Bairavaa under Bharathan’s direction. The film is slated to be release around Pongal in 2017 release. The theatrical rights of the film are being sold and the prices are much higher than Vijay’s last release, Theri.
Atlee has also turned producer with Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae and Nivin Pauly’s next Tamil film directed by Atlee’s long time associate, Surya Balakumaran.
