Vaibhav Reddy has been roped in for the remake of Malayalam blockbuster Adi Kapyare Kootamani. He has been cast as the male lead for this comedy entertainer. “The makers of Kappal and those who produced the original Malayalam film, will jointly be producing the Tamil remake. I found the film to be a complete entertainer — it falls in the same genre as that of Kappal. The director and other cast of the film will be finalised by Pongal,” he told ToI.
Adi Kapyare Kootamani, a supernatural comedy, was directed by John Verghese. The film had Dhyan Sreenivasan, Namitha Pramod in the lead roles.

Meanwhile, riding high on the success of Chennai 600028: Second Innings, Vaibhav is keen on taking up more rural based roles. His portrayal of Marudhu has been garnering appreciation from fans and critics alike.
Vaibhav added: “Even while filming, the team was telling me that I would be getting appreciation for my role. Now, I’m looking forward to taking up more rural roles.”
Vaibhav would be seen next in director VC Guhanathan’s upcoming film. The film is said to be a romantic-thriller.
