Director Sundar C’s Sangamithra will star actors Jayam Ravi and Arya in the lead roles. The film is considered to be the director’s biggest project till date and is said to be a period drama.

Earlier, actors Vijay and Mahesh Babu were said to be in consideration for the lead roles in the film. The tri-lingual will involve extensive visual effects and has the distinction of being Thenandal Films’ 100th production. AR Rahman has been roped in to compose the music, while Sabu Cyril is the art director.

Actor Jayam Ravi is currently awaiting the release of Bogan and has started shooting for space thriller Tik Tik Tik. Arya is all set for the release of thriller movie, Kadamban. The 32-year-old actor is said to have gone through a physical transformation to play a tribal character in the movie.
