Kaatru Veliyidai has been awarded a U certificate by the Censor Board. The film is now on track to release as scheduled on April 7. Starring Karthi Sivakumar and Aditi Rao Hydari, Kaatru Veliyidai is the story of a romance between an Air Force officer and a doctor, directed by Mani Ratnam.
Actors Shraddha Sainath, Rukmini Vijayakumar, KPAC Lalitha, and RJ Balaji all have pivotal roles in the film, while Ravi Varman has handled the cinematography. The film was shot mostly in Ooty, Leh, and Ladakh.
Kaatru Veliyidai was announced in mid-2016 and wrapped up in January this year.
Mani Ratnam’s last release was the 2015 film OK Kanmani, a generational romance that tried to introduce the concept of live-in relationships.
