Actor and producer Thiagarajan, who has the Tamil remake rights for Vikas Bahl’s Queen, says the remake hasn’t been postponed and will go on floors in May. Speaking to the Deccan Chronicle, he refuted statements made by actress Tamannaah Bhatia about the project being shelved for unknown reasons.

Instead, Thiagarajan clarified that shooting would begin in a month’s time, regardless of whether Tamannaah was on board. “We haven’t paid her any advance till now. She seemed very interested — but I met her father and manager once and I could not afford the remuneration they demanded. I had a different budget for it. Things did not work out with her! But that doesn’t mean I am shelving the project,” he said.
He said that the team was currently identifying a suitable director for the film. He said, “Considering the scale of the movie, which has to be done in four languages, we are in the process of freezing directors for the other languages. We have completed the script work of the remake. Revathy and Suhasini are working in Tamil version.”
