According to a TOI report, Nadeem Rana, who is the head of a local religious organisation, approached the Jhinsi police station in the city, with a complaint against the 43-year-old singer.

“We have received a written complaint,” Amitesh Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Aurangabad said, adding that no offence has been registered yet as they are studying the case.

Meanwhile, actress Shraddha Das took to Facebook to comment on the issue. According to a Mid-Day report, she wrote, “I live right next to him, but strangely I have never heard the azaan in the morning at my place. It is hardly audible. I hear he just shaved his head, and for the first time, there is so much traffic outside our homes.”

However, Shraddha soon deleted the post.

Earlier, a senior Muslim cleric had offered Rs 10 lakhs to anyone that shaved Nigam’s head. The singer, in response, had tweeted:

TOI report then quoted the cleric, Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, as saying: “It was an announcement against Nigam’s provocative statement. I’m not going to pay Rs 10 lakh because Sonu Nigam has failed to fulfill all the conditions I laid down. I’m glad that he shaved his head although it looks like he only trimmed it.”
