Junior NTR might well have an extended cameo in Mahanati. The actor, who is good friends with the film’s producer Swapna Dutt, is reportedly in consideration to play his famous grandfather, NTR, in the Savithri biopic.

“The film’s producer Swapna Dutt and NTR are good friends. While no concrete talks have been initiated yet, the former did suggest to the actor that she’d love it if he could play a cameo in the film. How things pan out will depend on the shoot schedule and many other factors which will be decided eventually.”
Mahanati has Keerthy Suresh in the role of Savithri. Dulquer Salman plays Gemini Ganesan in the film, while Samantha Ruth Prabhu has an important role as well. Nag Ashwin has signed on to direct.
