Rajinikanth, who was in the United States for a medical checkup and short holiday, has returned to Chennai, and will resume shooting for Kaala.
A report in the Dinamalar says that Rajinikanth left for the US after the first schedule of shooting for Kaala, which wrapped up June 27. Reportedly, Rajini and Aishwaryaa left for the US immediately after, for a scheduled health checkup and some R&R. Rajini returned to Chennai late on July 10.

While Rajinikanth did not answer the media’s questions, it was reported that he will rest in Chennai for a day before resuming shooting. A special set resembling that of Bombay’s famous Dharavi area has been put up in Chennai for the film, and Pa Ranjith and the unit moved from Bombay to Chennai to continue the shoot.
Meanwhile, the world is still trying to figure out if Rajinikanth’s statements (or lack of statements) hold any clues about his entry into electoral politics.
