I started My Music Company Out of Anger: Actor Vishal

Actor Vishal Krishna is ready with his new venture, a music company called V Music. The Kaththi Sandai actor says that at least one song each from all his movies have been chart-busters, but he never received due returns. 

Speaking to DC, he said he began his new company out of anger. Everyone says the audio market is bad. So, “I decided to find by myself what is it all about and started V Music. I realised that, besides DVD sales, there are various platforms in which we can exploit the music market”.

V Music has acquired the music rights for PV Prasad’s upcoming Sakunthalavin Kadhalan. Prasad will direct, compose music, pen the lyrics, and handle the story, screenplay and dialogues for the movie. Vishal says he has assured the director of appropriate returns.

Meanwhile, speaking about the recent strike over local body taxes that saw no films being screened in theatres, Vishal, also general secretary of the Nadigar Sangam and president of the Tamil Nadu Producers’ Council, said: “We have represented our case with respect to entertainment tax to the State Government. They have promised to abolish the tax and we are hopeful of a positive outcome. Watching a film in the theatres should not be made expensive — it should be an enjoyable experience.”
