Casey Affleck, who won the Oscar this year for Manchester By The Sea, will star in a TV series, which is to be directed by Alfonso Cuarón, director of Gravity.

According a report in Deadline Hollywood, “Details about the projects are being kept under wraps but it is a horror genre series that tracks the origins of a cult. Cuarón is writing, directing and executive producing. The content is being pitched to pay cable and streaming outlets, garnering interest from multiple networks. This would be the first TV series role for Affleck.”
Cuarón, who won Oscar for Gravity, has previously co-created the NBC drama series, Believe.
Affleck will next star in Old Man and the Gun and in Light of My Life.
