Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Drishyam, is now being filmed at Thodupuzha, Kerala, the location where the original Malayalam film was shot. The shoot is progressing rapidly and the team will move on to Kuttralam next. The film features Kamal Haasan, Gouthami in lead roles, while Asha Sharath, Nivedha Thomas and Kalabhavan Mani form the supporting cast. Director Jeethu Joseph, who made the original, is directing the Tamil remake as well.

Talking about roping in Gouthami, Jeethu Joseph said, “I heard from someone that she was planning a comeback. So I went to Kamal sir and asked  him if we could cast Gouthami. She fits the role of a middle class woman from an agricultural family.”

Writer Jeyamohan has penned the dialogues and Ghibran has composed music. The movie is produced by Sripriya under her banner Rajkumar Theatres Private Limited. Papanasam is the working title for the remake.
