Dhruva Natchathiram
Vikram plays a spy, John, in Dhruva Natchathiram, which is being directed by Gautham Menon. Major high-octane action sequences were shot in Bulgaria, Turkey and Abu Dhabi. The film has Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma as female leads, while Parthiban plays a pivotal role. The film’s shoot was wrapped up in Turkey recently and the film is scheduled to release this year end.
Imaikkaa Nodigal
Although not a spy thriller, Nayanthara plays a CBI officer in Imaikkaa Nodigal. She will be part of many action sequences in this thriller. The film has Atharvaa in a supporting role. The film’s teaser which was released a few months ago was also well received. Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is also in the film.
Mahesh Babu’s Spyder and Nayanthara and Vikram starrer Iru Mugan are some of the recently released spy thrillers which received mixed response from the audience.
