Actor Ranjith and actress Priya Raman, who had filed for divorce by mutual consent last November, are now officially separated. The court granted them divorce on May 16; and Priya Raman has custody of their two sons, Aadithya and Aakash.
The couple has been facing differences for over a year now; and decided to split late last year. “They remain friends and are working towards raising their children in a healthy environment,” the couple’s spokesperson said.
Actor Ranjith has been part of many successful movies including Pandavar Bhoomi, Ennama Kannu and Marumalarchi while Priya has starred in Valli and Suryavamsam. Ranjith continued to act post marriage, but Priya quit her movie career to concentrate on raising her children. The couple fell in love on the sets of Nesam Pudhusu and got married in 1999.
