Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has announced his next directorial venture – a film on the second Prime Minister of India – Lal Bahadur Shashtri. The film titled The Tashkent Files is touted to be an investigative thriller which will delve into the death of the late prime minister.
Naseeruddin Shah and Mithun Chakraborty have been roped in for the film.

The film goes on floor next week and the director will be casting a prominent actor for the role of Shashtri and the announcement will happen soon. Agnihotri has previously directed films like Buddha in a Traffic Jam and Hate Story.
