Actor Kamal Haasan has officially confirmed his political tour; he will begin his journey on February 21. The actor, in an official press release, said that he is embarking on the tour to understand what the people of the state need and what their aspirations and afflictions are. He further highlighted that this is being planned in ‘phases’, and that there will be many tours in the future. He also announced the name of his party during his tour.
Beginning at his birthplace Ramanathapuram, Haasan has plans of meeting and spending time with the people from the districts in Madurai, Dindigul and Sivagangai.
A few days ago, the actor reportedly said at the recently concluded Ananda Vikatan Awards that he would begin his political tour on January 26. He’d also said that the details of the tour will be published in his column for the magazine on January 18.

In his last column, published on January 11, Haasan said that his political rally has been delayed owing to some ‘meticulous planning’. He wrote:
“It is my wish that the manifesto of my party should outlive me. I believe that political parties should be launched by those who agree that they should outlive them. A political party for one or two generations is like a bypass bridge for a short term. A political party should stand like the Pamban bridge that withstands roaring waves. People know how much time it takes [to launch] such a political party.”
