The teaser of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s action-thriller Ranam-Detroit Crossing is out, piquing quite a lot of curiosity. Barely one-and-a-half minutes long, it has no dialogues but there’s palpable tension.
Prithviraj’s character is seen inside a car, waiting and observing a white man take out his car and leave. Once he leaves, Prithviraj takes out a baseball bat and heads towards the house. First he knocks, but a timid response later, he breaks open the door, smashing it into pieces.

Ranam – Detroit Crossing is said to be based on true stories, focusing on Tamil street fights. The lead character gets involved with some gangs and the rest forms the story. Directed by debutant Nirmal Sachdev, the film has Prithviraj play a gang leader shuttling between Detroit and Michigan. The film also stars Rahman and Isha Talwar.
The film, bankrolled by Anand Payyanur and Biju – Rani Lawson under the banners Yes Cinema Production and Lawson Entertainment, is expected to release in March this year.
