Almost a week after Sridevi’s sudden demise, her daughter Janhvi Kapoor posted a heartfelt note in remembrance of her mother.
“On my birthday, the only thing I ask of all of you is that you love your parents. Cherish them and devote yourself to making them feel that love. They have made you. And I ask that you remember my mother fondly, pray for her soul to rest in peace,” she wrote in her Instagram post.
Sridevi passed away in Dubai on February 24. The cause of death was stated as accidental drowning. She had gone to Dubai to attend a relative’s wedding. Her body was brought back to Mumbai three days later on completion of all the formalities. Sridevi was cremated with state honours on February. Reports state that her husband Boney Kapoor will go to Rameswaram to immerse her ashes.
Writing about her younger sibling Khushi and her father, Janhvi wrote: “Let the love and adulation you’ll showered on her continue and please know that the biggest part of my mother was the love she shared with papa… Please respect that because it hurts to think anyone would ever try to tarnish it.”
Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut with Shahid Kapoor’s younger brother Ishaan Khattar in Dhadak, a remake of 2016’s Marathi film Sairat. The film is being directed by Shashank Khaitan, who is best known for directing Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania and is produced by Karan Johar.
