Sangamithra, the period drama helmed by Sundar C, will reportedly go on floors this July. According to Mumbai Mirror, work was supposed to start this January but got delayed owing to lead actress Disha Patani’s other work commitments.

A source told Mirror that the film will be on the lines of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali and is likely to release in two parts. Bankrolled by Hema Rukmini of Sri Thenandal Films, Disha came on board in October last year, a few months after Shruti Haasan opted out of the project.
The film also stars Jayam Ravi and Arya, will have music by AR Rahman. Last year, the project was launched amidst fanfare at Cannes International Film Festival. The Tamil film will be made in Telugu and Hindi as well.
Disha was last seen in Baaghi 2 with Tiger Shroff. The film has already grossed over Rs 80 crores within four days of its release.
