Regina Cassandra Joins Arvind Swami’s Next With Director Rajapandi

Regina Cassandra will reportedly star in Rajapandi’s next directorial venture. The movie was announced a while back with Arvind Swami in the lead. Pegged to be a thriller, the film will go on floors in September.

Rajapandi had previously directed Achamindri and Ennamo Nadakkuthu. Both films were critically acclaimed. The director feels that Regina is perfect for the character he envisioned. “Regina is a huge talent and will bring value to the film. I am excited to see how the story I had in my mind will take shape. We will be filming a major part of it in Chennai soon. The project is yet to be launched, the official announcement will be made soon.”

A spokesperson for the actor confirmed her casting and said that she was thrilled to take on the lead role. “Regina has immense respect for the director and she is looking forward to working with Arvind Swami as well. With this, Regina has an impressive line up of projects that are scheduled for release in 2018 and 2019.”

The team is building a set in AVM Studios and they will start shooting in September. The team is finalising the rest of the cast and crew. The first look and the film’s title will be out in October, according to sources.

At present, Regina has lead roles in Silukkuvarupatti Singam featuring Vishnu Vishal, Oviya and Party, along with an ensemble cast headlined by Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan.

She was last seen in Mr Chandramouli, that had Karthik Muthuraman and Gautham Karthik in the other lead roles.

Arvind Swami, on the other hand, has Naragasooran and the long delayed Sathuranga Vettai 2 gearing up for release. He has an important role in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam as Varadhan. His rural entertainer, Vanangamudi, is on the lookout for a suitable release date as well.
