Directed by Deekay of Yaamirukka Bayamey fame, Katteri (vampire) is a horror comedy with Vaibhav in the lead. The teaser of the film was unveiled on Tuesday.
Going by the teaser, it looks like the hero faces the same incidents that take place in a horror novel. Sonam is cast opposite Vaibhav and Aathmika is seen as the friend who helps them escape from the vampire. There are rumours that Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who has been signed up for the film, will play the vampire, but the team is yet to confirm the news.
Also part of the cast are Ravi Mariya, Chetan, Bigg Boss fame Ponambalam, Kutty Gopi, John Vijay, Mime Gopi, Balaji Mohan, Namo Narayana and Lollu Sabha Manohar.
Saying the film is different from other horror films, actor Ravi Mariya said, “It is unpredictable. If any can predict the next scene while watching Katteri I will give them Rs. 1 lakh. Even I don’t know who is Katteri in the film. The film has a very strong screenplay, similar to what K Bhagyaraj Sir used to write.

Produced by KE Gnanavelraja under the Studio Green banner and co-produced by Abi and Abi pictures, the film has no songs, and the background score is composed by Prasad SN of Yaamirukka Bayamey fame.
According to a report in the Times Of India, the director has said that the film will have four heroines – Sonam and Aathmika will be seen as urban girls while Varalaxmi and Manali’s characters appear in the period segment; all four will meet at a point in the film.
