Tentatively titled RRR, director S.S.Rajamouli’s new movie, after last year’s Baahubali 2, was launched yesterday at Hyderabad. The first clap was given by actor Chiranjeevi at an event that was attended by the Baahubali actors – Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.
Starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, who were also present at the event, the motion poster of RRR was launched earlier this year. The movie, made on a rumoured budget of Rs.300 crores, is being produced by DVV Danayya who was quoted in an Indian Express report as saying, “There are already great expectations from the film with the Nandamuri fans, Mega fans and all moviegoers expecting something out of the ordinary. I promise I will make sure no stone is left un-turned from my side in that regard.”
He also said that the formal shoot of the movie would commence on November 19 with an action scene between the lead actors. “We will soon announce the rest of the cast,” he added.
Rajamouli, whose Baahubali 2 released in April 2017 and became the highest grossing Indian film, has retained most of his team from that movie for RRR. K.K. Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril is the art director, and M.M. Keeravani is the music composer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, who regularly collaborates with the director, is the editor for the movie. And the director’s father, Vijayendra Rao, is the screenwriter.

Fresh off from the success of this year’s Rangasthalam, Ram Charan’s future projects include Vinaya Vidheya Rama that will hit theatres next year. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, and featuring Bollywood actors Kiara Advani and Vivek Oberoi, the teaser for the movie came out last week.
Ram Charan is also producing Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. RRR marks the second collaboration between Rajamouli and Ram Charan after 2009’s Magadheera.
After Student No.1, Simhadri and Yamadonga, RRR is the fourth collaboration between Jr. NTR and director S.S. Rajamouli. Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava was the actor’s only release this year.
